Employment/Recruitment agencies problem and solution

Employment agencies have been doing everything in exactly the same way for decades and always charge the employer some amount when they hire a worker for him (I suppose that it is one-month gross salary).

Which of the following conditions does not pass at all with employment agencies/employers?

  1. Work will be organized on a contract basis as: “Company as an employer <-> You as a self-employed company (as a contractor)”
  2. It is allowed to work less than 168 hours per month (but not less than 50), because of your obligations towards the other clients.
  3. You will be able to work remotely using our project management tool, GIT and VPN but you will need to sign NDA agreement.

I would say that the third condition is exclusive, even at the time of these COVID lockdowns.

Condition 2 can be also problematic, but employers always forget that someone’s 80 hours of work can be worth as much as someone else’s 240 hours of work.

What is not clear to me is why there are no recruitment agencies that are focus also on taking money from the contractors when they find them job/contract?

Tip: “If we reach an agreement between the company and you, you will pay us 20% of the invoices you sent in the first X months of your work for that company (if you work for them less than X months, it is not the problem, it will be still 20%)”.
They can still charge the employer with the amount they are doing today (obviously everyone is used to that model), but they will also have an interest in bringing him a contractor for additional earnings from the contractor.

Probably the majority of the owners of IT companies still require developers to sit in boxes in the company offices.

Is your IT company different?

My opinion is that, if the job is nicely divided into smaller tasks, then the remote team can finish the job equally successful as a team on-site by using good project management tool and communication (when communication is needed).
